Butterfly Tattoos

Butterfly tattoos are extremely popular with females because they are beautiful, delicate, graceful and elegant. They basically represent everything a woman aspires to be themselves.

Their popularity is largely down to their beauty and flexibility, rather than their symbolic meaning. A butterfly tattoo looks great on any part of the body whether it's a bold butterfly design on the lower back or a cute little butterfly discreetly placed on the shoulder or ankle, for example. Indeed the fact that even the smallest butterfly design can look very attractive means that butterfly designs make for a great choice of tattoo for first-timers.

To be fair though, a butterfly tattoo does have various symbolic meanings as well. Butterflies represent freedom, beauty and happiness. They also stand for rebirth and transformation in some cultures with the butterfly symbolization the beautiful life that is ultimately possible despite being born as a fairly ugly caterpillar.

For most people butterfly tattoo designs are chosen because of how great they look on the body. They can be large or small meaning they can look great on any part of the body, and the fact that you can use multiple colors means that your chosen design doesn't necessarily have to look like everyone Else's. There is still room for you to be a little creative with your design.

It's no surprise then that the butterfly tattoo design is one of the most popular tattoo designs amongst women (although some men have them as well). They also look great when combined with another type of tattoo as well, such as a flower or a fairy, for instance.
